Quando se trata de nossa seguran\u00e7a pessoal - no trabalho e em casa - fazemos um grande n\u00famero de suposi\u00e7\u00f5es sobre coisas e pessoas todos os dias. Pequenos e grandes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fazer suposi\u00e7\u00f5es come\u00e7a com o trajeto para o trabalho. Dirigindo por um sem\u00e1foro verde, presumimos que todos os motoristas que se aproximam parem quando o lado deles estiver vermelho. Quando somos o motorista que se aproxima, assumimos que os freios do nosso carro funcionem. No cruzamento ferrovi\u00e1rio, assumimos que, se o port\u00e3o estiver aberto e as luzes n\u00e3o estiverem piscando, n\u00e3o haver\u00e1 trem vindo.<\/span><\/p>\n

No entanto, todos sabemos por experi\u00eancia pr\u00f3pria que os condutores s\u00e3o conhecidos por usar luzes vermelhas e sinais de parada; Sabe-se que as quebras de ve\u00edculos falham; os sinais de cruzamento de ferrovia nem sempre funcionam como planejados.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00c9 imposs\u00edvel verificar cada coisa do mundo - ou pessoa do planeta - que possa representar uma fonte de dano para n\u00f3s. Mas n\u00e3o custa considerar o que estamos assumindo. E a qualquer momento que fazemos um esfor\u00e7o para "confiar - mas verificar", estamos dando um passo positivo no sentido de voltarmos para casa vivos e bem no final do dia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Se voc\u00ea est\u00e1 procurando mais um exemplo de "supondo que ...", aqui est\u00e1 mais uma hist\u00f3ria sobre algo aparentemente pequeno - um peda\u00e7o de madeira - que n\u00e3o estava na condi\u00e7\u00e3o em que era suposto. O fracasso se mostrou fatal.<\/span><\/p>\n
