Este m\u00eas marca o septuag\u00e9simo quinto anivers\u00e1rio do pior acidente industrial da hist\u00f3ria dos EUA.\u00a0Voc\u00ea sabe o que foi, ou onde aconteceu?<\/em><\/div>

Em 16 de abril de 1947, um inc\u00eandio no por\u00e3o de carga do SS Grandcamp, um navio carregado com nitrato de am\u00f4nio, desencadeou uma s\u00e9rie de explos\u00f5es na cidade industrial de Texas City, TX. A for\u00e7a da explos\u00e3o foi t\u00e3o grande que a \u00e2ncora do navio foi lan\u00e7ada a mais de um quil\u00f4metro e meio pela cidade. 567 pessoas foram mortas, mais de 5.000 feridas. Casas, empresas, f\u00e1bricas de produtos qu\u00edmicos e refinarias, e o porto foram dizimados pela s\u00e9rie de explos\u00f5es.<\/p>

Essa hist\u00f3ria provavelmente parece ser uma li\u00e7\u00e3o de hist\u00f3ria antiga, mas h\u00e1 algo a ser aprendido que se aplica ao que voc\u00ea faz rotineiramente no trabalho: solucionar problemas.<\/p>

Todo mundo sabe que o objetivo da solu\u00e7\u00e3o de problemas \u00e9 corrigir um problema. Mas h\u00e1 um mundo de diferen\u00e7a entre\u00a0tentando<\/em>\u00a0para resolver um problema e\u00a0corrigindo com sucesso\u00a0<\/em>o problema.\u00a0<\/em>\u00c9 muito poss\u00edvel que algu\u00e9m n\u00e3o qualificado no processo de solu\u00e7\u00e3o de problemas acabe criando um problema ainda maior com sua corre\u00e7\u00e3o. Foi exatamente isso que aconteceu em Texas City.<\/p>

Um pequeno inc\u00eandio irrompeu no por\u00e3o de carga. Como usar \u00e1gua para apagar o fogo teria arruinado a carga, o capit\u00e3o do navio e o l\u00edder do estivador inventaram uma maneira diferente de\u00a0experimentar<\/em>\u00a0para resolver o problema: feche as escotilhas e injete vapor no por\u00e3o para apagar o fogo.<\/p>

Pode ter parecido uma boa ideia, mas a \u201csolu\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d deles transformou a nave em uma bomba gigantesca!<\/p><\/div>
