Il 16 aprile 1947, un incendio nella stiva della SS Grandcamp, una nave carica di nitrato di ammonio, mise in moto una serie di esplosioni nella citt\u00e0 industriale di Texas City, TX. La forza dell'esplosione fu cos\u00ec grande che l'ancora della nave fu scagliata per pi\u00f9 di un miglio attraverso la citt\u00e0. 567 persone sono state uccise, pi\u00f9 di 5.000 ferite. Case, aziende, stabilimenti chimici e raffinerie e il porto furono decimati dalla serie di esplosioni.<\/p>

Quella storia probabilmente sembra essere una lezione di storia antica, ma c'\u00e8 qualcosa da imparare che si applica a ci\u00f2 che fai abitualmente al lavoro: risolvere i problemi.<\/p>

Tutti sanno che il punto della risoluzione dei problemi \u00e8 risolvere un problema. Ma c'\u00e8 un mondo di differenza tra\u00a0provare<\/em>\u00a0per risolvere un problema e\u00a0correggere con successo\u00a0<\/em>il problema.\u00a0<\/em>\u00c8 molto probabile che qualcuno non esperto nel processo di risoluzione dei problemi finisca per creare un problema ancora pi\u00f9 grande con la propria soluzione. Questo \u00e8 esattamente quello che \u00e8 successo a Texas City.<\/p>

Nella stiva era scoppiato un piccolo incendio. Dal momento che usare l'acqua per spegnere il fuoco avrebbe rovinato il carico, il capitano della nave e il capo dello stivatore hanno escogitato un modo diverso per\u00a0tentativo<\/em>\u00a0per risolvere il problema: abbassare i portelli e iniettare vapore nella stiva per spegnere il fuoco.<\/p>

Poteva sembrare una buona idea, ma la loro "soluzione" ha trasformato la nave in una gigantesca bomba!<\/p><\/div>

La prossima volta che sei tentato di farlo\u00a0prova qualcosa<\/em>\u00a0per risolvere un problema, applica la lezione del disastro di Texas City: considera tutte le conseguenze che la tua soluzione potrebbe mettere in moto. Altrimenti, la cura potrebbe finire peggio del disturbo.<\/p>
