Une question commence par faire parler quelqu&#039;un d&#039;autre. Pour toutes les th\u00e9ories sophistiqu\u00e9es qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 propos\u00e9es sur l&#039;art de la communication interpersonnelle, la communication ne se r\u00e9sume-t-elle pas fondamentalement \u00e0 quelqu&#039;un qui parle et \u00e0 d&#039;autres qui \u00e9coutent ce qui se dit?<\/p><p>Ainsi, lorsqu&#039;un manager pose une question et que les gens commencent \u00e0 y r\u00e9pondre, le manager obtient des informations sur ce qui se passe et ce que les gens pensent. Quel gestionnaire n&#039;en b\u00e9n\u00e9ficierait pas?<\/p><p>Les questions engagent les gens. Il est difficile d&#039;entendre une question et de ne pas commencer \u00e0 y penser. Six ans plus tard, la question \u00ab\u00cates-vous mieux maintenant qu&#039;il y a quatre ans?\u00bb conduit \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9lection d&#039;un autre pr\u00e9sident.<\/p><p>Tout gestionnaire qui souhaite faire avancer une cause, comme reconna\u00eetre les dangers, ferait bien de faire bon usage de la m\u00eame technique, peut-\u00eatre en demandant aux personnes qui font le travail: \u00abQuels types de dangers contournez-vous et qui pourraient vous blesser?\u00bb<\/p><p>Donc, si les questions offrent tant d&#039;avantages aux gestionnaires, pourquoi ne sont-elles pas utilis\u00e9es plus souvent?<\/p><p>Comme nous l&#039;avons vu aux premiers rangs de notre carri\u00e8re, les managers sont beaucoup plus susceptibles de fournir des r\u00e9ponses que de poser des questions. Voici un exemple parfait - et tragique. Un PDG d&#039;entreprise \u00e9coute les d\u00e9tails d&#039;un d\u00e9c\u00e8s d&#039;un employ\u00e9 tr\u00e8s exp\u00e9riment\u00e9. L&#039;accident \u00e9tait en grande partie caus\u00e9 par le non-respect par l&#039;employ\u00e9 des proc\u00e9dures de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 requises. Commentaire du PDG apr\u00e8s avoir entendu l&#039;histoire: \u00abSi les proc\u00e9dures avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 suivies, cela ne se serait jamais produit.\u00bb<\/p><p>Vrai. Mais \u00e0 quel point cette d\u00e9claration \u00e9tait-elle utile?<\/p><p>Ce n&#039;est jamais une mauvaise chose de se rappeler que le respect des proc\u00e9dures de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 peut \u00e9viter une blessure. Nous soup\u00e7onnons que c&#039;est la raison pour laquelle les proc\u00e9dures ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9dig\u00e9es en premier lieu. Ce PDG n&#039;aurait-il pas \u00e9t\u00e9 mieux de se poser la question: \u00abQu&#039;est-ce qui inciterait un employ\u00e9 senior qui connaissait les r\u00e8gles \u00e0 prendre un raccourci qui lui co\u00fbterait la vie?\u00bb S&#039;il avait pos\u00e9 cette question et obtenu la vraie r\u00e9ponse, il aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 choqu\u00e9.<\/p><p>Mais il n&#039;a pas pos\u00e9 cette question. Au lieu de cela, il a fait exactement ce que la plupart d&#039;entre nous, gestionnaires, faisons dans des situations o\u00f9 nous cherchons une explication: nous donnons une r\u00e9ponse; Faire un commentaire; donner une opinion. Notre potentiel de gestion a \u00e9t\u00e9 reconnu en grande partie parce que nous n&#039;\u00e9tions pas assis dans la rang\u00e9e des apprenants lents dans la salle de classe.<\/p><p>Collectivement, les managers sont des personnes brillantes et passionn\u00e9es par l&#039;excellence. \u00catre reconnu pour conna\u00eetre la bonne r\u00e9ponse est une grande partie de ce qui nous a motiv\u00e9s toute notre vie. Nous avons pris l&#039;habitude de conna\u00eetre la r\u00e9ponse.<\/p><p>Nos connaissances sont peut-\u00eatre notre plus grande force, mais elles peuvent aussi \u00eatre notre perte. Conna\u00eetre la mauvaise r\u00e9ponse est pire que ne rien savoir. Bon nombre des probl\u00e8mes que nous sommes cens\u00e9s r\u00e9soudre en entreprise - ceux qui impliquent le comportement humain et la dynamique du march\u00e9, par exemple - ne sont pas accompagn\u00e9s de \u00abbonnes r\u00e9ponses\u00bb. R\u00e9soudre un probl\u00e8me de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 difficile - comme la raison pour laquelle les gens ne suivent pas les proc\u00e9dures de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 - n&#039;est pas un test not\u00e9. Vous ne trouverez pas la bonne r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 la page 47 de votre manuel.<\/p><p>R\u00e9soudre des probl\u00e8mes difficiles n\u00e9cessite une bonne r\u00e9flexion. Poser de bonnes questions fait partie int\u00e9grante d&#039;une bonne r\u00e9flexion. Les meilleurs managers posent les meilleures questions.<\/p><p>La bonne nouvelle est qu&#039;apprendre \u00e0 poser de bonnes questions n&#039;est pas si difficile et peut \u00eatre facilement ma\u00eetris\u00e9. C&#039;est vraiment juste un cas de formation d&#039;une nouvelle habitude: commencer des phrases avec des mots comme \u00abqui, quoi, quand, o\u00f9, pourquoi et comment\u00bb et terminer la phrase avec un point d&#039;interrogation.<\/p><p>Voici un exemple. &quot;Combien de phrases dans cet article se terminent par un point d&#039;interrogation?&quot;<\/p><p>Ne faites pas l&#039;erreur de penser que vous devez avoir toutes les r\u00e9ponses simplement parce que vous \u00eates le manager. Aucun manager ne le fait jamais.
