La vraie histoire est que les superviseurs de premi\u00e8re ligne ont plus de contr\u00f4le et d&#039;influence sur l&#039;ex\u00e9cution que tout autre niveau de gestion de l&#039;entreprise. Lorsqu&#039;ils font bien leur travail, l&#039;\u00e9quipe travaille en toute s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p><p><strong>Que manquions-nous?<\/strong><\/p><p>Pourquoi est-ce que tant d\u2019entre nous n\u2019ont pas appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 le r\u00f4le critique du superviseur dans la d\u00e9termination de l\u2019ex\u00e9cution? Il semblait que chaque fois que nous n&#039;\u00e9tions pas satisfaits des performances en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, la derni\u00e8re chose \u00e0 laquelle nous pensions \u00e9tait de mieux g\u00e9rer l&#039;ex\u00e9cution. Nous n&#039;avons jamais pens\u00e9 \u00e0 demander aux superviseurs ce qu&#039;ils voyaient \u00absur le terrain\u00bb. Au lieu de cela, nous, les responsables, d\u00e9terminions le probl\u00e8me, puis d\u00e9ployions une campagne publicitaire, \u00e9crivions des lettres, appelions un temps d&#039;arr\u00eat pour des raisons de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 ou arrondissions quelques-uns des suspects habituels.<\/p><p>Pire encore, nous d\u00e9ployons souvent nos meilleurs efforts pour saper ou \u00e9liminer le r\u00f4le du superviseur. Pendant plus de cinquante ans, dans le cadre d&#039;enqu\u00eates men\u00e9es dans le monde entier, les superviseurs de premi\u00e8re ligne ont \u00e9t\u00e9 syst\u00e9matiquement \u00e9lus membres de la direction les plus fiables.<\/p><p>R\u00e9trospectivement, la plus grande erreur que nous ayons commise dans la gestion des performances de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 a commenc\u00e9 lorsque nous avons n\u00e9glig\u00e9 les simples vertus de l&#039;ex\u00e9cution pour d\u00e9terminer les r\u00e9sultats de s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Nous avons confondu notre erreur en ne tirant pas pleinement parti du r\u00f4le puissant que les superviseurs de premi\u00e8re ligne pourraient jouer dans la gestion de l&#039;ex\u00e9cution.<\/p><p>Ce que nous aurions d\u00fb faire, c&#039;\u00e9tait leur donner toute l&#039;aide n\u00e9cessaire pour ex\u00e9cuter notre plan de match pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Si nous avions pr\u00eat\u00e9 attention aux conseils de Crosby sur le r\u00f4le de la direction dans l&#039;aide aux autres, nous aurions consacr\u00e9 davantage d&#039;efforts \u00e0 g\u00e9rer les performances en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 en d\u00e9veloppant les comp\u00e9tences en leadership des superviseurs de premi\u00e8re ligne; en leur apportant le soutien dont ils ont besoin et en se concentrant sur leur r\u00e9ussite. Si nous l&#039;avions fait, nous aurions eu encore plus de succ\u00e8s dans la gestion des performances de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 - et nous aurions probablement consacr\u00e9 beaucoup moins d&#039;efforts dans le processus.<\/p><p>Les superviseurs de premi\u00e8re ligne ont le plus de contr\u00f4le et d&#039;influence sur l&#039;ex\u00e9cution.
